I've got a really large spreadsheet from work and I need to have it look at one coloum and then lookup this contract number against another sheet and find a matching value.
Ordinarily I would use the lookup function but it returns the wrong results.
To clarify, it should:-
Look at a cell, check another range for a matching contract number and return the number in the range running alongside it.
Currently my formula is ='LOOKUP(C4,'Site Codes'!C:C,'Site Codes'!E:E)'
For the life of me I cant get it to return the correct value.
Ive read that its because its not in acceding order but its not possible for me to resort the order as the originating number is itself the result of a formula.
Cany anyone help as ive been working on it all day and got nowhere.
