Looks nice! but it doesnt work

i recently discovered the microsoft spyware download and
thought great!.... so i downloaded it and run a scan of
my system....it came back saying that it was fine.
I then noticed on the newsgroup section on the site that
a lot of people said that it didnt pick up spyware that
others such as lavasoft and spybot had.
So i tried ad-ware and low and behold it came back saying
there was some spyware.
The microsoft spyware looks nice but they need to do a
bit more work to make it run properly

You missed the messages mentioning that, in the current version, it doesn't
scan for cookies.

Please realize that NO anti-apyware program detects
everything, NONE can do that at this stage of Anti-
Spyware technology. Giant Company's (now Microsoft's) did
the absolute best in 3 separate test sessions among 19
other products held by Eric Howes last October:
http://spywarewarrior.com/asw-test-results-1.htm
That's why we have to have more than one anti-spyware
applicaton, so each one covers the other's back,
detecting what the other programs can't. Also, we want to
compare scan results in order to discover false
positives, thereby eliminating the removal of safe items
by mistake.

I installed the antispyware program about a week ago and
I have to say it works a lot better than lavasofts ad-
aware program on both mine and my wifes p.c's. It picked
up all the nasties on both computers, (which ad-aware
didn't), deleted them and both run fine now with no
problems at all.
Personally I think it's a great program and it's just
what I've been looking for, but, will the final version
be free or will we have to pay for it? if it's free I
think it will be an absolute winner.
I also like the fact that it gives you a discription of
what the found spyware is and what it does.
Cheers, Paul

The descriptive material, both for the items found and the checkpoints, is a
great strength of the product. Nothing has been announced about how the
product will be released, I'm afraid.
