A program I recall that is similar to Mi Tools.

The main difference was that you could set it to just show the edge at the side of
the screen, so it was out of the way. This way if you hovered your mouse over it,
it would show the whole toolbar.

MI Tools is just what I want except for the fact it is a nuisance to keep
minimising and maximising to the sys tray. Much easier to hover mouse on the edge
of the screen. I just can't remember what the other similiar program is, nor has
any searches brought up what I want. It is to be mainly used for shortcuts, instead
of having them as "quick launch."

Thanks in advance.

Not the app you're looking for I think, but you might want to take a look
at RunIt from http://www.magister-lex.at/RUNit/
RUNit is a simple but yet powerful launchpad for Win95/98 and NT(4.0 and
above).
RUNit gives you quick access to applications, documents, folders and
shortcuts.
Unlike many other launchpads RUNit doesn't occupy any space on your screen
- you only see it when you actually use it.
RUNit defines a "hot area" on your screen where a click of the right mouse
button
makes the RUNit launch-menu appear (see fig. 1).The "hot area" can be any
border
of the screen or even the whole screen.
(you have to hold down the CRTL or SHIFT key while right clicking in "whole
screen mode")

Thanks to both of you for your suggested programs. I have tried both of them but
unfortunately none of them is quite what I wanted. It was kind of you to take the
trouble to reply with your suggestions though. Hopefully I will find the program I
want when not looking!

You could have a look at CLCL which is a fast and efficient clipboard
manager.
Tucked away in Options/Action are menu options including app
launching. A hotkey can be set to bring up a menu on screen wherever
the cursor happens to be
Excellent app; very small.

You're more than welcome and as I see, some more suggestions were posted,
I'm sure you'll find the program or maybe even a better one.
