I've run WW for a long time, not seeing any "phone home" activity other
than the program checking for updates - which I WANT it do to. It passes
all spyware checks, and packet examination isn't revealing anything
unsavory.

Have you checked the resources it takes up? And do a cache flush and
take a look at how much crap comes from that prog.

I have, and the answers to your questions (in the same order) are hardly
any, and very little. I monitor this machine very closely. Don't you empty
your cache frequently and regularly anyway?

I second what Bubba has already said, and I've been running it a long while
now and through many updated versions. Excellent.

Cheers,

Roy

I agree..WeatherPulse is fast, easy and full of features...I keep
track of weather at 4 different locations, and watch animated radar of
it all when I wish...great program!

Now thats one useful program! (especially as the weather is becoming more
unpredictable over here)

Then we agree to disagree. I rather like Weather Pulse more.

Does have a bias towards N. America though.
yes...though it has recently added sattelite views of the rest of the
world, its detailed maps and city locations are US/N. America based. I
don't know if it's possible...yet..to link to world-wide forecast
centers.

No probem, if you can find your city on weather.com Weather Pulse can
display it.

I just typed in "Newcastle Upon Tyne" (without the quotes obviously) and
brought up the correct one :o)

Thanks--but EULA says some toolbar also will be installed...not for me.

SYSYPHUS' SISTER

Yes, that's true, but it's not dangerous. I disabled it after installation.

I think WW and Weather Pulse are both OK if you want a full-
fledged weather app. For more casual weather info, I really
like the Weatherfox extension for Firefox. For many it might
be all they need - and it has a link to The Weather Channel
for those times when you do need the radar maps and stuff.
