Hi. I not only erased a bunch of files, I also emptied the recycle bin!
(Yeah, I know.) The only useful program I had was Norton Utilities in a 2003
SystemWorks. If I had been awake, I'd have run the thing from the CD. But
no. It was early in the morning, and I installed the whole programme to
Drive C, the same drive where the missing files were! (Yeah, I KNOW!!!)

Is there _any_ deep scan program out there which might help?

Thanks.

The best data recovery program is by far the recovery from
your backup medium. A 2.5" disk in an external USB case
is cheap and far more effective than any of the tools listed
below. Since you installed System Works on your disk after
deleting your files, your chances of recovering any files are
close to nil. Time to review your backup strategy.

As Pegasus said since you've done so much activity on the HD after you
deleted the files from the Recycle Bin, which is on the part of the drive
to get continually overwritten first, your chances are very small, and the
more you use your HD the more impossible it becomes - without sending your
drive out for costly professional services, if possbile.

Otherwise, for over the counter available software I've seen though where
in some cases was surprised to see how long some data was recoverable and
not overwritten, especially the smaller the file the better your chances
were (even in the RB) ..however at the same time I've seen other instances
I was also surprised to see how quickly and almost immediately it was Not
available for recover from the RB..

There are many programs out there to undelete files, here's just one of
them, a link http://www.recover4all.com/ to a choice of 2 programs
called recover4all that for FREE will let you see all the folders/files
that have been deleted that Are Available for recovery, and items less
than 10kb it will even let you recover them free - otherwise to recover
larger files it would need to be registered; but right away for Free at
least you'd be able to see what items are available for recovery.
The program is quick and easy to use.

Another program that is not as easy to use or works as well, but is totally
free, is a program called Restoration:

Because of what you did though, your chances are not good.
