I got the X1150 which I believe is replacing the 1125, I might be
wrong. On top of that, I have little experience with printers, but I
remember how tough it was to find opinions on some of these newer
printers, so here goes:
I am very happy with mine, no software/driver/installation issues
whatsoever (w/ Windows XP). Text is very good compared to other
printers of same price range ($99), photos just good. I have a 2
megapixel Canon A40 and when printing on Kodak photo paper, prints
look as good as they possibly can considering the camera used. Using
Quickprint (low ink use, b & w) I get nice clear copies which is why I
bought it. I print a lot of electrical schematics from PDF files and
even very fine details are clear with the low quality print setting.
Scanner is great-I've never had one before, but I have scanned some
pretty detailed stuff and I'm amazed at how good it comes out. I
should mention that when printing photos, the colors don't seem
incredibly accurate, I would give the printer the lowest marks in this
category.
In general, I was on the fence about getting an All-in-One that did
not print good photos, and yet I'm not a photographer or graphic
designer, so I didn't want to spend $150+ on just a printer. I doubt
I could be much happier with an all-in-on at this price.
One more thing, though-even using QuickPrint, it has been guzzling
black ink, and the cartridges are $25-$30 each (printer head is part
of the cartridge). I'll have a shot at using a high-quality ink
refill kit.
