Hi, I've just installed Fax Console off the XP Disk which
was a piece of cake. trouble is I am able to receive a
fax through my computer, however I have to manually
accept the call to achieve this - it doesn't stream in
automatically even though I have it configured to accept
fax calls automatically. I am on a fax duet account with
my phone provider (where they combine a fax number onto
your phone account and when a fax comes through it rings
all weirdly). Could it be a case of .. 'that dreaded
duet', or is it something more obvious..

Windows XP does not detect distinctive ring service. You have to install a
line-sharing, distinctive ring-switched device. This is one such:

There might be less pricey devices-I just did a quick check.

Note that, while the device is not inexpensive, it is cheaper than paying
the charges for a separate fax line.

That folks, is a number One answer. This babie's a jigsaw
puzzle, and a big piece just got found. (I'm from
Australia, and love the the sand between my toes while my
fax back home takes order after order).
