Is there a small portable office suite that will fit on a USB drive to
use as a guest on a computer. Small basic spreadsheet, word processer
and email. A web browser would be nice too.

It would need to run without installation and leave no trace of itself
on the computer being borrowed.

I thought I had read about an ap like this somewhere.

I think that this is only posssible for you yourself to put together a
modular type of package.

The only office apps I know that do not leave a trace or require
install are:

browser:
Off By One

word processor:
Atlantis Nova

or
AEdit

speadsheet:
Spread32

or
Abykus

Email:

Graphic/Concept Mapping Tool:

and

Ftp:

File Manager:

zip:
100k Zipper

PDF App:
PDFproducer

NotePad Replacement:
metapad

or
subpad

Encryption:
dsCrypt

this could furnish you with some good basic apps to do most average
working tasks.

best,

I doubt it but you could get a linux distribution that fits on a usb drive.
hmmm but that will only work if you can boot from usb on the guest
computer. You could download linux live cd and use the usb drive to save
stuff. But that would only work if you can boot from the cd.

I wonder if you could install openoffice on a usb. Lets google well looky
here you can do that. Go nuts.
