Looking for similar to Sound Forge but Freeware

Hello,
Anyone knows where to find a good Sound editor that is similar to Sound
Forge or Cool edit ?
Any info welcome and thanks,

Audacity is a decent wave editor but certainly with fewer features than
those.

Second dadiOH's recommendation here - And, whilst it's true it doesn't have
as many features as soundforge or cool edit/audition or whatever it's called
now, Audacity can now load VST plug-ins - there are hundreds of these freely
available, so one way or another you should be able to carry out most of the
processing tasks that you can with the commercial products.

A good place to look for free plug-ins is

has loads of free stuff)
more up to date is KVR - use there search feature to find free plugins
