Can anyone advise of a program that can record streaming audio files
as they are downloaded?

It's use would be for things like recording parts of an internet
broadcast where there is no actual file link to download.

It would be very much appreciated.

TIA

Heh, you know you CAN search this newgroup on google. "A program to
record streaming audio" is requested roughly every three days.

Any program that can record from the system mixer can do this.
Personally, I use CDEX's "record from analog in" functionality.

Just tried this yesyerday. Got it to record and replay MMS streams.
Doesn't seen to work as a live player, though.

You will need the .NET framework for this one.

Thanks for THAT. I detest the .NET premise. You should, too.

This brings up a point that I believe a.c.f. needs ... and, that is a better
cooperative forum for evaluating software by experienced and knowledgeable
persons.

It is one thing to find, appreciate, and spread-the-word-about a new piece
of software, but quite another to thoughtfully evaluate its utility,
ergonomics,
and dependencies.

I for one intend to install and try every piece of software and determine
what all it requires before hawking the news.
