Abstract: Do you know a program to check RAM type?

Dear knowledgeables,

I have to check about 2 dozen PC for the specific type and amount of RAM
installed.
I hope to find a way to do this without having to open them all up, or
even look at POST-Screens.

I would love to have a program that outputs the exaxt memory
configuration, like so:

Bank 1: 128MB PC2700 DDR
Bank 2: 128MB PC2700 DDR

or the like. Is there such a thing? I have looked pretty extensively... In
newsgroup the usual advice
on finding out RAM type is either a)look at the POST screen or b)open the
box, get the numbers on
the memory bars and google it.

Further info:
PC range from 400MHz oldtimers to 2GHz models. OS is Windows XP or 2000,
though knoppix or dos booting is a
possibility.

Thank you in advance for your kind advice, regards, Björn.
