I hope i don't come off sounding too much like a novice but I am wondering
what type of OS is XP and windows 2003 server? I know 98 and 2000 are 32 bit
(out of the box) and are backwards compatable for 16 bit apps. Were can I
find documentation on the OS bit type for XP and 2003??? Thankx for your
help in advance..

Windows XP is 32bit and there is a 64bit version available but I believe
it's in Beta.
Hope that helps

Hi, cc.

WinXP and Win2K3 Server are 32-bit operating systems, but 64-bit versions
are available, too. Until recently (the AMD 64-bit chip), the 64-bit
versions were for hardware that was much too expensive for most users, so we
almost always think of all recent Windows versions as 32-bit.

You might like to read the Windows XP Professional Resource Kit
Documentation. It's available from Microsoft Press or your favorite
bookstore for $59.99 (before discounts). Or you can read all or parts of it
online at:

Windows XP and Windows 2003 server can be 32 bit or 64 bit. You get the 64
bit version from OEM's (or MSDN), not local retail stores.

This should help;

Windows XP 64-Bit Edition Home Page
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/64bit/

Windows Server 2003 64-Bit Versions
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsserver2003/64bit/default.mspx

Windows XP 64-Bit Frequently Asked Questions
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/64bit/evaluation/faq.asp

Hope this helps.
