I am looking for online calendar, notes, to do and reminders. I do not want
to install MS Outlook but features similar to those contained there would
be OK. Can you recommend good software.

Thanks
Roman

By "online" do you mean web-based? Shared objects across a network?
On a PC versus a pocket organizer? I'm slightly confused by the
juxtaposition of "online" and "install MS Outlook".

I did not really think clearly when I wrote the posting but
-Web based calendar would be ideal, as I could access it anywhere in the
world as long as it was quick to get round and user friendly.
-Downloaded software would be second best option but I suspect there will be
more to choose from

Thanks
Roman.

Have you looked into the Yahoo Calendar? (http://calendar.yahoo.com).
All you need is a Yahoo account...

No, I have not, because I do not have a Yahoo account. Would you please give
me a brief description of it´s capabilities and your assesment of how user
friendly it is? I know I can subscribe for free and I will do that when I
feel that it may be what I am looking for but otherwise it is yet another
set of data to note somewhere......

Thanks

Roman -

I am a long time Yahoo user. Yahoo calendar, and tasks are pretty nice.
It is very user friendly, if you accept a couple of "gotcha's" from
the standpoint of it being free.

1: You can share the calendar, but only with other Yahoo.com members.
My wife, who is a Yahoo.com member, has the site blocked at work, so she
can't see my calendar while there. I've started looking at setting up
Apache with PostNuke on the web server at home for that reason. The
other alternative is BorgCalendar, with the data stored on a server.

2: The Calendar and address book will both let you import data from
existing local programs. The directions are complex, but easy to
follow. The problem is that it will not allow you to export the same
data TO an external program.

3: Yahoo calendar page, mail page, tasks page, and My Yahoo page are
very busy with banner ads. It is a bit of an eyesore.

Other than these caveats, Yahoo services are very nice and well thought
out. Notepad for jotting notes, task pad for ToDo's.

Calendar has two reminders for each event. Plenty of space to add
detailed information. Multiple views.

Email has automatic spam and virus scanning.

Web folders for storing files.

My Yahoo is a personal landing page with customizable look and feel and
content.
