I'm looking for a PSC to replace my old (expletive and brand deleted)
photo printer. Output quality and scanning in the "decent" to "great"
range would be nice, under $300 would be amazing. I've been looking at
reviews at several places (zdnet, computingreview, bizrate, etc) and
haven't found a lot of reviews to judge by. The digital camera sites
have lots but aare naturally prejudiced toward photographic quality
scanning and output, I just don't need that kind of scanning/output
quality yet. Know any good sites for printer reviews?

I've been leaning toward a HP PSC2110 but the reported high ink usage and
paper jams aren't inspiring.

no reason to be inspired by the current junk on the market including hps.
do a google groups search on "psc 2110" and alternately include
"trouble" and "error" to find out what a headache the hp2110 is. you'll
also find the 2110xi (supposedly business) model sold at wholesale clubs
has more driver problems and other errors than the consumer model and has
fewer features. imho not too smart to dump on your business customers
but imho theyre driven by their marketing department not common sense

btw the 2110 is old news anyway the only mfgr interested in building
anything new in the psc market today is epson

Can't talk for the PSC2110 but the PSC1210's driver was a disappointment:
- No networking
- No Greyscale
- No way to print on both sides, even with manual intervention
- No way to install the print driver without getting the whole HP memory-hungry
resident apps that crash when the computer goes to sleep.

Haven't tried the scanner yet, but the color copy works ok but the skin colors
are quite different when you copy a picture.

Ok I managed to print through the network, the server must be the same kind of
windows as the client to install the client drivers through the network.

I definately concur that the PSC 2110 should be avoided at all costs. I
have gone through 4 defective units (thankfully under warranty). HP's tech
support has been very polite and knowledgeable, but the factory re-furbs
they send must skip the repair step as they invariable are defective as
well. HP finally agreed to send a new unit for my 4th 2110. Unfortunately,
although it arrived in a retail box, it was obviously used (the print
cartridges were already installed) and it included an RMA printout from CDW
to HP (HP obviously didn't even bother to re-pack it since they left the
RMA slip in the box). HP tried to make that up by sending me two free print
cartridges. Don't think I will be needing those!

BTW, HP appears to be committed to the PSC market. They just released new
models today. Although my next unit will be an Epson (also want to have the
option to use it with OS X).
