Hi

I'm looking for 2 IE7 add ons, if they exist, to help me get some
functionality I had in Firefox:

1) One that will allow me to right-click a link on the Links toolbar (I have
my most-used favourites here, as I did in Firefox's Bookmarks Toolbar) and
choose "Open In New Tab". At the minute I have to open a new tab first,
then click on the link in the Links toolbar.

2) One that will allow me select a word or phrase or block of text on a web
page, right-click it and choose "Search <currently selected search provider>
for..." (i.e. if my default search provider is Google, be able to select
some text on a web page and right-click it and choose "Search Google
for....". Firefox had an extension that let me do this.

I may end up going back to Firefox, but I kinda like IE7 in Vista and would
like to persevere with it.

Also, are there any other good add ons you guys recommend?

Cheers

Why on Earth do you like IE 7? It's a terrible browser wrapped up in a shiny new skin. Every single other modern browser, without exception, is better. If you're gonna take that attitude you deserve everything you get. Have a nice day.

Can't help on number 2...

For number 1 above....I had the same question and it was suggested that
holding the ctrl key down while clicking on a link in the links tool bar
will open it in a new tab. It takes 2 hands but it's still faster than
starting a new tab first.

What I would like to see is to be able to right click on an item in the
"favorites menu" to open in a new tab. That, I would think should a
standard "feature".
