Hi, eveyrone.

Anyone know of a good organigram maker?

Cheers! :oD

Couldn't find anything specific for organigrams. Microsoft Office from
like Office 2000 on has an organization toolbar available in Word,
Exceland PowerPoint. To get to it, click View -> Toolbars -> Customize
(down at the bottom) -> Toolbars Tab -> Oraganization Chart. It works
pretty well.

In the new Open Office 1.9.71.1 Beta there is a flowchart toolbar in
the drawing program available via similar menu choices as above with MS
Office.

Open Office Beta is here:

Below are free flowcharters (most are from
http://pricelesswarehome.org/acf/P_GRAPHICS.php):

http://www.steema.com/products/TeeTreeOffice/index.htm
http://www.wheelmud.org/ftproot/downloads/freeflow.zip - impresive free
version of IMSI Flow Charting Program.
http://it-des-group.web.cern.ch/it-des-group/ETS/swdevtools/sdt/Visualthought/windows.html
- impressive. Use the key provided: 4687 5261 1375 3152 2773 94, which
is good for 13 years.
http://x-itools.sourceforge.net/ - maybe has organization charter.
http://www.molips.com/intro/index.html - Molipdraw - Japanese with
English version.
http://www.asahi-net.or.jp/~yt3m-fksr/lib/ - for download of above.
http://dia-installer.sourceforge.net/ - freeware standy.
http://meesoft.logicnet.dk/ - looks like nice simple one.
http://chartlive.sourceforge.net/eng/index.html - Flow chart library
for software inclusion. Russian with English translation.
http://www.jansfreeware.com/jfgraphics.htm#diagrams - simple and nice.
http://www.goosee.com/goosee/index.shtml - Eve - legendary draw program
is only 74 KB zipped. Page includes link to predrawn standard
flowchart shapes.
http://www.wheelmud.org/ftproot/downloads/freeflow.zip - impresive free
version of IMSI Flow Charting Program.
http://ausis.gf.vu.lt/pub/tools/engrids.zip - nice. Nothing specific
about org charts. Specialty is electrical, network, database and
guitar fingering diagrams.

Oops, it appears the native functionality for org charts is in 2003
only. For Office 2000 and 2002, install the free Microsoft Org Chart
2.0:

Oops again, Aafuss is right, Org Chart Toolbar comes with Office XP and
2003. Org Chart 2.0 is freestanding. It installs here if you need to
find it and there is no shortcuts: C:\Program Files\Common
Files\Microsoft Shared\ORGCHART.

I think it can be called from Office 95 - 2003. Its useful in XP and
2003 for editing charts from Org Chart 2.0. As above Office XP and
2003 have their own much improved org chart tool bar.

Thanks so much for this info!

I have Win98SE so hopefully it does work <g>. I'll report back.
Cheers!

Nope. It wouldn't install. I got that nasty error box that said I
needed a newer OS.

Ah well.

I wonder where the installer looks for that info, and whether it's
possible to fool it.
True, there's a good chance of real functional problems but I also do
suspect that they might do this deliberately to force the poor sodding
enslaved user to shell out on an unnecessary upgrade of one sort or
another.
For instance, I have a Crucial Gizmo2 mem stick which is not provided
with w98 drivers or support, but I have found some PNY drivers that let
the device work perfectly well under 98se, letting me avoid an OS
upgrade for a little bit longer.

Microsoft will have to work very hard to separate me from more of my
money. :-)
