Looking for free version of RealOne player

Looking for free version of RealOne player or another paler that will play
RealOne (RealPlayer) files. When I go to the RealPlayer to get it it wants
to install but I need it to install on a couple system so would like to DL
it.

If anyone knows of a good shareware or paid program to play RealPlayer files
please feel free to e-mail me.

That download includes the Real Player codec, Media Player Classic
(which can play Real Player files), and plugins for Netscape/Mozilla.
 
Well ... free is one thing, but encroaching on patents is another.
The circulating RealAlternative package contains an earlier version
of MPlayer that has been hacked to use REAL codecs which
successfully permits hearing of REAL files ... including streaming.
This last feature was the stumbling block that others could not
overcome until 'alternative' appeared. But, REAL, Inc. has appealed
to the internet world not to use this 'alternative' as it infringes upon
their patents and ability to derive compensation for their product.
Yet ... RealAlternative can be found with some diligent searching
if you believe that REAL, Inc. is too much of a domineering hog.

such as where I can download the full free version of RealOne
(RealPlayer) program or a replacement for it.

Actually, the Real Alternative that I linked to includes the current
version of Media Player Classic (currently 6.4.5.6).

No, it hasn't been "hacked" to use Real codecs...it's been coded by the
developer of Media Player Classic to use the Real Codecs.
 
I seem to have found the answer to my own question after a little
digging. I am DLing it now and shall try it out.


There's a freeware product called JetAudio that seems to fit
the bill perfectly: http://www.jetaudio.com
It plays .RA, .RAM, and .RMI files (which isn't all RealAudio
content, but it meets my simple needs.) It appears to be free
of spy-, ad- or nag-ware, and (outside of some initial
twiddling with the file associations) it appears to work
perfectly. I tested the software on Real's test site:

It even supports ripping and burning audio CDs, with some
extra MP3 features in the non-free "Plus" version.
