Looking for an SP2 Wizard

My initial problem is the search function has decided to only work very
occasionally.

I'm running XP home with SP2.

In my attempts to repair it I keep getting directed to " locate SP2 files"

SP2 files were downloaded from Microsoft a while ago. Thee does'nt appear to
be a specific location. I find KN*&^$#@ files in multiple Windows
directories.

How can I direct the computer to the files it needs to repair "Search" ? Is
there a hidden file folder that has the base SP2 files?

can be downloaded and
stored on the harddrive
in a specific folder
of your choosing:

then boot into safemode,
go to that folder and click on
the setup/install file to initiate.
