Hi,

Does anybody know a make/model or place I can buy a SATA hard disk that is
10k plus spin speed, that is in the 200gb + range ?

Want to use it for video capture/editing under XP

Thanks

There are no 200GB 10+RPM SATA drives available yet.
I would suggest purchasing a 250GB 7200RPM SATA.

Pair a SATA RAID controller in RAID-0 mode with a 6-pack of 36GB
10K RPM HDs and you're there. To be useful, you'll need a pretty
strong PC, or that HD bandwidth will be badly throttled by the standard
32b 33MHz PCI bus.

I just purchased two Hitachi Deskstar 160gb Serial SATA
Hard Drives from ZipZoomFly.com for $156. My drives are
only 7,200rpm, but I plan to use them for serious video
editing in Vegas/DVD Architect. They had higher gb drives,
but I got priced out at $156. You may find what you're
looking for there.

If you are doing 200 gigs of video on SATA, use a raid
contoller and some 80 gig drives (very common). 200 gig
has a "Challenge" transferring that much data through the
interface. SATA is good, RAID is good. use them together.
That is why so many SATA motherboards have RAID
controllers on them.
