Hi

I'm currently running a 3.1 MHz which came with a Radeon 9550 256Mb Pci card as standard - the card really lets the system down for gaming though (struggles loads at anything other than low res on games like Oblivion, F.E.A.R etc). I'm looking to upgrade and any suggestions for a good gaming card up to about £150 would be appreciated. Thanks.

Must be one of those days today....

Both links to Novatech site are the same and the first post states it's a pci card being used, which presumably means pci-e...

But yes, 7600GT would fit the bill nicely :)

You should also be looking at the Nvidia 7 or 6 series. Stick with Nvidia cards as well, most reliable ones :D

On what evidence is this based?

I don't agree with that statement at all but will say that at this moment in time, Nvidia seems to have the edge when it comes to performance. But things change.

I've had both ATI and Nvidia cards crap out on me.

He has a Pci slot...

i know that but he could have an AGP slot which would make the range of graphics cards he could use a lot more, if he hasn't got anything newer than standard PCI then he's gonna need a new motherboard as well as i think thats pretty much the best card you can get for PCI

oh and is there such a thing as a PCI-E version of the 9550 ? seems pretty pointless if there is IMO
