Looking for a German font please.
Can someone help me out here?

Try going to the AltaVista website:

http://www.altavista.com

and type the following into the search field:

+German +font +free

You'll get lots of hits.

By the way, fonts aren't freeware since they're not programs. They're
data files.

IMO they are indeed freeware if they are free fonts. I know of know
requirement that the term "software" be restricted to an executable
program file.

Hy,
Gosh, are there no civil(ized) fonts available in German?
"Luftwaffe" means "Air Force" (no, not the #1)

isn't that what they expect from us "ugly" germans? ;-)

I just really don't know what they expect asking for a
"german font"? Is there a way to express "beer" in an font?
Or "Sauerkraut"?

http://www.1001freefonts.com/

Or what really is great to help them to really express what
they search: http://www.identifont.com/

Regards,
Thorsten

OK, guys, then - since you know the exact definition of "software";
tell me where I can find any free cables, books (manuals etc.)... since
in IT THAT is considered being software too, or do we have some kind of
"softer than software" definition here?

The consensus has been pretty much "stuff that runs", as versus data.

As for data, I just find it through Google.

Better ask in alt.binaries.fonts and you will be pointed to more freeware
fonts - of any nationality ;-) - as your computer is able to accommodate.

HTH
Aenor

BTW, font users consider fonts as software components. Just try to run any
text processing program or publishing program without fonts.....

Thank you for all the above. :)

Good point. Just about everybody except a few fanatic control freaks
in this NG consider fonts software.

How do you know "just about everybody" believes that ?

Why would that be surprising?
Thats how people request the binaries, for example.
Or report spam, as some do at the freeware binary group.

Some binary groups don't allow posting of text messages.
