Looking for a freeware to split wmv videos files !

HJSplit will split them OK, but they won't be independently playable.

AsfTools should be able to cut them (it won't here for some reason), but
I don't think it will automatically split them into lots of pieces.

HJSplit can be used to chop up and re-combine one song at a time. I don't know
of anything that could do that for an entire CD of music though.

Windows MovieMaker 2 (WinXP only) can easily split them on a timeline
and save each separately. Both Tmpgenc and VirtualDub can import and
split them with a DirectShow Avisynth script (not recommended for
newbies).

IIRC you need a fairly old build of VirtualDub to import a wmv...

While VDub doesn't support direct import of wmv files, it certainly
should be able to import them via an Avisynth avs file using a
DirectShow plugin script.
