I was surfing through some of the threads and I found a site that let
you view each Slide transition one after another.

Does anyone have this link to this site?

I believe this site allowed you to see every transition in action and if
I remember correctly, it was a site I went to from another site...
So I can't remember where I started from,

I think the site was made by a woman.
I wanted to review the way she made the background of a slide fade in
color to another color.

Any help would be greatful.

I thought this was an interesting idea to be able to quickly and easily view
different slide transitions, so I put together a presentation. The
presentation was created in PowerPoint2003, so some of the earlier versions
may not be able to view all the transition effects. Please feel free to
download it and use it any way you choose. My way of paying back for all
the helpful advice I have received in this forum.

Hope you find it useful.

You can download it at http://www.dkotech.com/ppt.htm

There are some sample files on my site of animations and transitions for PPT
2002/2003 -- and some other samples for PPT 2000/97. Perhaps that's what you

Don,
Very cool and very useful. I really like the menu and
the transition REPLAY button. How did you get the
transitions to replay? My experience has been that
transistions don't replay after they have played and then
you go back to them. Thanks for sharing your powerpoint
presentation - it is very "user friendly".

Thanks!

To be able to replay transitions, I have a "blank" slide before EACH
transition slide. All the "blank slides" are set to advance automatically
and have a timing of 00:00. I learned of this method to replay a transition
in this forum.

To view how the PowerPoint presentation was set up, change (rename) the
SlideTransitions.pps to SlideTransitions.ppt in Microsoft Explorer. When
changing the file extension from .pps to .ppt you will get a warning message
asking "if you are sure you want to make the change"....click on YES to make
the change.

Or just open the file from within PowerPoint. PPS files are just PPT files
with a different extension that causes them to open in Slide Show (therefore
the "S") mode when double clicked. Otherwise just open them from within
PowerPoint.

By the way, transition is usually used to describe the effect that you
assign to the entire slide. It takes place between slides. You
presentation is a great demo of all of the entry animations, which are
applied to objects like your mountain image.

Sonia,
Thank you for clarification between the terms "transition" and "entry
animation". It is important that correct terminology be used so as not to
lead to confusion. You are correct when you say that my demo is of "entry
animation" of an object.

I have modified the PowerPoint presentation so that it now correctly uses
the term "entry animation" instead of "slide transition".
It is available for download at http://dkotech.com/ppt.htm
