Hello,

Looking for a capture device that can capture EVERYTHING on my computer
screen. Currently I have an ATI Radeon 9600XT video card and it can output
video to a VCR via a composite cable, but to do that I have to switch the
display mode and nothing can be seen on the monitor. With this card you
can't (at least I've yet to find a way) to both output to my VCR AND view
the monitor.

Preferably I'd like to find something that's relatively inexpensive (no more
than $150)

Might anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks,

Jeff

Thanks, but got any hints on how to get it to work "outside" of games?

I tried it and it didn't do anything until I launched Unreal Tournament
2004. Then it captured my game, but that's not what I want. I want to
capture video that I'm playing back on my desktop, either from Windows Media
Player 10 or RealPlayer 10.

Software would be GREAT, but hardware would do the job too.

Thanks for any suggestions

There are a number of network media players out, even some
refurbished ones in the $150 range. Google to find a make and
model, then Froogle to find a good price.

CamStudio v2.00 is freeware (latest versions went commercial) but it does
everything you need. You can use it with its own codec or capture your
desktop/portions of your desktop with xvid or divx (if those codecs are
installed on your pc!). http://www.videohelp.com/tools?tool=CamStudio

Great program but the freeware version is a little hard to find but the link
above should have one working link :)
