We Live For The One We Die For The One

I read somewhere that Westen Digital 120 gig drives were the fastest
:)

Need a quiet one as well, like my Baraccuda IV 60 gig drive.

I would maybe like to get two and raid them just to try it out never
raided before raid 0 ?

Thanks.

IBM no sorry IBM suck.

How do you know that Hitachi (not IBM--IBM doesn't make drives) 7K250s suck?
There was a time when Maxtors sucked. Another when Western Digitals
sucked, even CDC made a few bad designs.

If you do business on the basis that a drive manufacturer which is now under
different ownership and management once made a product that had problems
the you would not be using disks at all, because they all have.

You wanted a quiet, fast drive. The 7K250s are fast and quiet. Western
Digital has yet to make a drive that doesn't sound like a Kzinti war zone.

You're no less biased than he is if you really believe the above to be true.

I say buy another Seagate Barracuda and be done with it.

Yeah they are safe :) and quiet maybe not the fastest but theother two
are good reasons.

And if one goes by the "one bad batch and never buy another drive from that
manufacturer" principle then Seagate is to be avoided as well.

If you look at the benchmarks of 8 meg drives the speed is in your
TWISTED MIND :)

No real difference at all.

Clueless.
