look up

I created a field and then used the look up wizard to
establish a drop down box. now I find I don't want the
look up feature to be on this field. how do you remove the
look up from the field

If you do not want to have your field as a drop down box
(combo?) then right click the box and change it to a text
box.

.even if I change it to text the look up feature still
remains-I do not want any sort of lookup feature on this
field at all
 
When you say "change it to text" do you mean change it to
a text box or change the field type to text? You need to
change right click the combo box and select "text box"

Good for you!

Open the Table in design view; select the field. At the lower left of
the screen there's a box on controls - select the Lookup tab.

Change the Display Control to "Text box".
