OS Windows XP pro with SP2

This question in all probability has been asked before. Sorry asking
again.

I am looking for the best virus scanner I can find? I am using Norton
2004 but my licence run out at the end of the month and I do not know
if I should renew it or try something new. I have look on the net but
all I can see are all manufactures say there is the best? Any help
would be great.

I have the same OS as you, used to have McAfee, use eTrust at work.
But at home (and for all friends asking) I use avast! antivirus.
I think it's easy to setup, good look, good messages etc etc

In order of price, I recommend:

AVG Free (Highly recommended & the price is right).

PC-Cillin (not nearly as much a resource hog as Norton or McAfee).

If you're willing to buy, NOD32 is excellent and does not
use excessive resources.

Kaspersky is also considered top notch.

The free AVs have already been suggested by other posters.
