This is a classic example of the hoax e:mails being sent
around the i-net. Microsoft does not use any such
techniques for informing you of updates. It is your
responsibility to keep your system updated and you must go
to the microsoft update site to do so. Therefore DO NOT I
repeat DO NOT pay any attention to the garbage like that
sent by Hastings. Keep smiling.

Please quote the posts you are replying to, then we will know what on earth
you are talking about.

Actually Gordon the last thing we need is the virus laden post being
reposted.
Ideally it would be more helpful if no one replied to these posts as we
attempt to clear them out and block them in future.

But the point was, that the OP I was replying to didn't quote (the quote
doesn't have to contain the virus attachment - that can be deleted) so I
didn't know the ORIGINAL post had a virus - and anyway, this poster seems to
make a habit (so far) of not quoting - he's posted several this afternoon
without doing it.
