The code name during development of Windows XP was 'Whistler' - a way on
down the road there are plans for 'Blackcomb'. . These are named for
two neighboring ski resorts in Canada. Longhorn fits between - it is
the name of a bar on the way across from one resort to the other.

Also the latest version of the UK 'Personal Computer World' has quite an
extensive five pages, referring to it as 'Windows 2005' in speculation
about both date and eventual name - both of which may well turn out to
be wrong
