Trying to move a 168 page word table into Excel. The Word
table had many paragraph returns within a cell which
threw off the rows when pasting into Excel. I tried a
Find and Replaced and replaced the para. returns with a
(^) symbol. This allowed them to stay in the correct
cell when pasted into Excel. But now I guess there's not
a way to find and replace the (^) symbol with a line
break once in Excel.

Any suggested for getting this Word table into Excel,
keeping all the information in the same cell?

Thanks!

Sure there is.

Select your range and Edit|replace
Find what: ^
Replace with: alt-0010
(hit and hold the altkey and type 0010 from the numeric keypad.)

It may look like nothing got entered, but try it. You'll like it.

How did you manage to replace the paragraph returns with a ^ in Word?
You should see an error message when you try to use it in the Replace
With box.

To replace the symbol with a line break in Excel:
1. Choose Edit>Replace
2. Find: ^
3. Replace with: hold the Alt key, and type 0010 on the number keypad
4. Click Replace All

How about using ^^ in the replace with box in MSWord?

(netscape crashed right when I hit send. Sorry if this is posted twice.)

Well, sure, there's that way.

(I tried ~^ but it didn't like that either.)
