Hi

I have some *very* long urls which appear in the drop down box when I type
the first letter of the site name and I can't get rid of them. they were
originally created by typing them in.

I have tried clearing the history (which clears all other urls) but this
does not work. I looked in the "TypedURLs" registry key and they are not
shown there.

Any ideas?

Andy

Thanks for the links.

I used a slight variation on the manual technique - logged off and then
connected from another pc as a network drive to delete the history folder.
All fine now :-))

Hi,

Try (freeware) CCleaner from http://www.ccleaner.com/ Check the boxes to
clear History and index.dat.

Or, you may want/need to delete the History folder.

Free History Eraser from
http://smartprotector.com/eraser/free-history-eraser.htm will delete the
History folder and a new one will be created when you restart.

Or the History folder can be deleted manually:
http://mvps.org/winhelp2002/delcache.htm

Hope this helps,
Don
