I've got a home movie that I've spliced together (bunch of film) and put on
Hi8.
I've now got it captured to MM.
Now I'd like to go thru it (slowly) and break it into Clips.

Can someone get me started?
When I drag the collection down there I don't see anything but one sort of
image and a looooooooooooong arrow to the right.

Thanks,
Doug

How about breaking the clip down in the collection first... preview it and
use the clip splitting feature, one of the little icons under the preview
monitor.

Or try a right mouse click on the big clip in the collection and choose
'Create Clips' for an automatic splitting process based on changes in
scenes.

Thanks again,
Regarding the second option - "Create Clips" - would this be similar to the
Automatic Movie thing? I tried that but it re-arranged all the scenes and
put them out of sequence. Or would they stay in sequence by using the
method you suggested??

Again, thanks for your help. You're a good 'un!

they would stay in sequence... it's the same as having the auto clip option
checked when importing a video clip... what you refer to is the auto-movie,
which is a different feature.

try a right mouse click in the open space of your collection bin and try the
'Details' view instead of 'Icons'... and your choices to arrange the Icons
(or listed items) by Name, Duration, Start Time, End Time, Dimensions, or
Date Taken.

OK, thanks,
