Any hints on why all my workstations take 2-3 minutes to
logon on to the AD domain? They sit at the loading user
settings screen for this whole time.

Probably because their name resolution is not correctly configured. Are
these WinNT, Win9x, or Win2k/XP?

Point the clients to the appropriate DNS server that holds the SRV records
for the domain.

Likely correct (name resolution), but if this isn't it look to GPO
processing or
anything your are running as a script.

The OP poster says, "workstations take" -- does he really mean workstations
logging on (they do) or users subsequently logging on? (It changes where
you
look in the GPO and scripts.)

Internal DNS must be dynamic to support Win2000+ domains.
All clients' NIC properties must point ONLY to the internal, dynamic DNS
server (set)
DCs and DNS servers are clients too (see previous rule)
If you change any of this on the DNS or DCs, restart the NetLogon
service

In addition check the Network protocol that is bound
first to the Adapter card. In case any other than TCP/IP
is availabel and is above TCP/IP change it to bring
TCP/IP to the top.
