But,It really is one of the most valued groups around

I know "dittos" are frowned upon, but I'm going to do it anyway <g>.

I've been putzing around usenet for 8 or 9 years and have dropped in/out of
various newsgroups. However, this is one newsgroup I don't plan on ever
dropping out of - just too much good stuff going on here, software and
people.

One thing that really impressed me:

When I dropped in, PL2004 had just been "released". Because I'm an old-fart
tightwad, I only have dial-up - and that doesn't quite cut it for such a
download. So - I posted a plea for someone to burn a copy of PL2004 for me.
Within minutes (literally), I had an offer to get it done, and it was
offered with no strings attached. Within a matter of days, the PL2004 CD
was in my sweaty palms - thanks again, Mark Warner!!

Just can't be beat.

You'd think they were passing out the bible! :-)

Cheers!

Without really saying whether I value ACF, I will just say that I monitor 10
Usenet groups and 10 Web-based groups daily. I always find myself clicking
on ACF first. Just the facts. :)

But is a thumb spasm really a good reason to note?

Oh hear me now, all ye software seekers...Praise the ACF! (Now the ushers
will be coming around to collect your 'offerings'...please remember those
who don't have as much software as you when you reach **deep** into your
pockets for your contributions).

Loren...brought up being forced to listen to *way* too many 'Evangelists'.

I just had a similar experience as yours here in Australia. I
posted a request to Adrian who lives in Sydney and I received it
by mail a few days later.

Thanks Adrian again.
