We are running two Dell desktops, and one Dell laptop on a wireless
home network. All three are running XP2. The router is a Linksys. The
printer is an Epson 870 photo printer.

When we attempt to print from any of these we get extremely long
delays, if it prints at all. Sometimes it may be an hour or two before
it mysteriously will bless us. At other times it may be the next day
or two. On other occasions it has begun to print when the computer the
printer is connected to is booted up for the day.

We also get these long delays if try to cancel a print job.

Has anyone else experienced this?

Thanks.

I have have a similar problem here! I am running a Wondoz XP laptop and a
Windoz Vista desktop. My Printer is an HP Deskjet 6980 series. My vista
machine and printer are on an Ethernet connection to my router. The Laptop
is usually operating on wireless but I have also uses an Ethernet
connection,

The Vista machine can print to the printer as expected but the popup for
double siding will not pop up!

If I try to print from the laptop, It takes 20 to 30 minutes to print and it
is imposable to cancel the print job once it starts!
I HAVE HAD TWO HALF HOUR SESSIONS WITH THE HP HELP DESK AND THIS IS THE
ONLY WAY I CAN PRINT FROM MY LAPTOP:
Disable the firewall on the XP laptop and the printer works ok. The
exceptions list will not work and even establishing a new channel will not
work when the firewall is turned on!
