logs

There is no log files folder in C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\
What sort(s) of logs should there be? I'm hoping to generate & retrieve WMI
trace logs.
OS=XP Home+SP2, pre-installed on Acer Notebook with malfunctioning
esettings.exe
