Logout while watching DVDs

I was wondering if there is any way to turn off the auto-
logout feature. The computer goes to the user login screen
after watching a dvd for a few minutes without moving the
mouse.

That is probably related to your screensaver's settings.

Since you didn't mention what you are using to watch DVDs with.... I shall
assume you use Windows Media Player.
(Something similar should work for various other DVD players)

In Windows Media Player, click Tools from the menu, then Options.
On the Player tab, uncheck the "Allow screensaver during playback" option.
