I am a single user on a standalon PC and would like to set up XP so that I
do not have to go through the login screen. Can you please tell me how to
do this?
 
Configure Autologin. XP can be configured to start without entering a user
name or password. Select Run... from the start menu and type 'control
userpasswords2', to open the user accounts application. On the Users tab,
clear the box for Users Must Enter A User Name And Password To Use This
Computer, and click on OK. An Automatically Log On dialog box will appear;
enter the user name and password for the account you want to use.
