If you are the only user for the computer, is it possible
to skip the step where you have to click on your user
icon when you want to start up Windows? I want to go
right to my desktop with out having to go through the
step of clicking my user name when I turn on my computer.
Can it be done?
Thanks, Kay

Hi Kay,

You can fix this by doing the following:

If you have a password:

Go to the following Microsoft website and download the PowerToy TweakUI:
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/pro/downloads/powertoys.asp
After you download and install it you can launch it by going to Start ->
Run -> TweakUI
Click on Logon and then enter the User name you want to automatically login.

If you don't have a password:
start - run - control userpasswords2
Uncheck the box for "Users must enter a user name and password to use this
computer.
Click on the Advanced tab and make sure "Require users to press
Ctrl+Alt+Del" is not checked as well.
Click Ok.

Hope this helps.

Thanks,

Yes there's a way to do it matey, not sure what the option is called, but
you'll find it under User Accounts in the Control Panel.

In control Panel double click on the user accounts icon,
select the option for everyone logs on the same. Not at
my home computer so can't give you the exact syntax.
