I'm running a system with XP home edition and just
recently started to get a lot of error messages. It only
happens if when the screensaver kicks in. If I leave my
desk for long enough for the screen saver to start and
when I come back and log in again to use the computer
this is the error message I get,
"
Windows Logon UI has encountered a problem and needs to
close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

Reporting Detail
This error report includes: information regarding the
condition of windows Logon UI when the problem occurred,
the operating system version and computer hardware in
use, and Internet Protocol (IP) address of your computer.

Depending on how long I have been away from the computer,
I have anywhere from 10 to 50 or more of these messages
which all want to send the Error Report Back to
Microsoft. Just sending these reports takes quite a bit
of time not to mention the annoyance.
This started to happen after I did the update patch for
the blast worm. I have updates my system and have used
the utilities provided to see if my system was infected
which it wasn't. And just to be sure the I wasn't
infected I have used another company's (McAfee) version
of the same utility as well as a manual search for the
listed files (msblast.exe) on my system and the results
were the same. So bottom line I don't think that my
system is infected.
This is really getting to be a problem for me and takes
long time to go through. Any help in resolving this error
would be appreciated.
