As the administrator of my database I am no longer able to log in. I clicked
on "Clear Password" on my Admin user thinking I was going to change the
password. Now every time I open my database, the window asking for username
and password no longer pops up. It appears that it is automatically opening
as the Admin user I was tinkering with. I verified this by checking the
Users and Group Accounts under Security. It shows the Admin user as the one
who is logged on. Since I am the administrator, I am not allowed to change
anything as the Admin user. I am in your basic "Catch 22". Is there any way
out of this complete stupidity on my part??

Not sure what you mean by this:

"Since I am the administrator, I am not allowed to change anything as the
Admin user"

There is not "administrator" in an Access database; that role is normally
taken by the Admin user, or another user who is a member of the Admins
group. If you are a member of the Admins group, then you should be able to
grant/revoke permissions as needed.

Did you remove the Admin user from the Admins group?

I'm the administrator and I'm in the Admins group. The only thing I did was click "Clear Password" for the Admin user when I was in Security - Users and Group Accounts. I had taken the Admin user out of the Admins group quite awhile ago.

If it is automatically logging you on as the Admin user - without
displaying the username/password box - you should, ipso facto, have
sufficient permissions to re-add a password to the Admin user. That
will cause the username/password box to start appearing again.

All you need to do is once in, go to Tools Security, Accounts. Click on the
Change Password tab, and set a password. that will cause the login dialog
to reappear.
