I have a laptop, with XP installed. My logon user name is
for example Winuser1 Pswd xxxx
All of a sudden, under this account, I can no longer
access any of my files. I look under "documents and
settings" and I can see the path to my user name, with all
my files there, however, XP set up a completely new
profile , The new profile has the same username point
computer name for example
Winuser1.computername
One of the programs I have installed is an accounting one
and it would take me days, to set it up under a new
profile. Is there anyway to fix my user name so that is
points to the correct path, and any idea how this could
have happened?
This is a standalone Laptop, so there is no domain or
server, the logon is local, and I have posted here, as I
believe XP and Windows2000 have the same logon procedures,
and no one could answer me in the XP forum.
I need to know the best way to get this user back up and
running!!
Thanks
