Ok so i have just installed windows Vista ultimate on my "custom built"
computer. Windows Vista Upgrade Advisor said it couldnt find any information
on my sound card. All it knew was its name. So i install Vista Yesterday and
everything works fine. Except my Speakers. So i do every possible thing i can
do to make them work. I update drivers, check to see if they are enabled. all
sorts of stuff i tried. But yet i cannot get them to put sound out. It says i
have an "HD Sound Card" and it worked fine until i installed vista. Any Help
on solving this problem would be greatful.

Hi,
I installed Vista Business and I can't get Media Player 11 to play on my
Logitech 6.1 speakers either. I installed the latest driver from REALTEK (for
the motherboard-based sound chip), and on the 'test' application of sound
manager I can get all the external speakers to work. The speakers also work
for Offfice and Windows 'sounds', but neither Media Player of the CD drive
will work. The p.c. speaker works okay. To do with your question about HD
sound, when I downloaded the REALTEK driver, I saw that there was a driver
for a high definition sound card as well. Vista told me it had a problem with
the HD sound part, so I disabled that in device manager and that problem went
away. I presume my AOPEN motherboard doesn't have HD sound. Hope my info
helps a bit with your problem.

I just got very mad at my speakers so i went to Bestbuy and bought a new
sound card and it fixed everything. I guess vista doesnt like integrated
sound cards.
