hi
i'd like anyone's help in registry editing
my mouse properties doesn't show the proper dialog box -
wrong mouse is pictured
the error code number is 39 which means another device is
providing functionality instead of this malfunctioning one.
this causes my wheel button to lose functionality as a
middle button and as a scroller on non MS compatible apps
i checked
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\l8042prt
\Parameters\WheelMouse1\0000
for the devicemodel(=wheelmouse1) and the numberofbuttons(=3)
those were correct as i understood from logitech's support
site except that the path should be l8042pr2 and not l8042prt
but i have another path right above it
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\L8042pr2\
which doesn't have the parameters folder
i don't know if the uppercase L means it's completely
different but the fact is it's 2 seperate folders.
is it connected in some way?
if anyone knows how to fix this pls help....
