Just a word to those considering a Logitech Harmony 880 remote. ALL
programming is done on the internet. This severely limits what you can do
with this remote.

No custom menu flow or custom icons. Just whatever Logitech feels like
setting up and only as long as Logitech feels like supporting it.

I've yet to find any third party software or mods for this remote.

Must be a TV remote control eh?

We don't have a TV here.

I would not mind having one that could open up the door to my house though

That would be the Phillips Pronto. It can learn IR codes direct from
an existing remote. One of my former employers-- a high end RV
manufacturer used these to open up blinds, and all sorts of actuators
and motors. And of course, run the A/V equipment. It's a VERY powerful
remote (the IR leds are VERY bright, so it has a long range).
