I have a login and password box on a webpage that I would like to wipe clean
and start with a new one . Can anybody tell me how to erase them?

Close IE/OE.
Control panel -> Internet Options -> Content -> Autocomplete: *first* Clear
Forms and *after* Clear Passwords.
Restart IE.
