Who provides your email service? Or to ask that question another way,
what is the part of your email address after the @ symbol?
Your mail provider will typically have a web page that shows how to
set up an email program. If you need more help, tell us the name of
your email service provider. If you currently don't have an email address,
we can help with that also.

Is that Yahoo email address your only email address? US-based free
Yahoo accounts have webmail access only, no POP access.
Windows Mail handles POP mail but not Yahoo webmail.
Yahoo's solution is to pay them for premium "Mail Plus" service:
http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/mail/original/mailplus/overview/index.html
and use the special settings for that service:
http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/mail/original/mailplus/pop/pop-14.html

If you are OK with using a non-Yahoo email address, you have these other
solutions that will work with Windows Mail:
* Use the email address assigned to you by your ISP.
* Use a free Gmail, AOL, or Hotmail/Live account.

You can also continue to use Yahoo's webmail: http://mail.yahoo.com
If you need more help with any of these solutions, just ask.

I have a similar problem. I use Windows Mail with satellite internet through
HughesNet. For the second time, my email will not load without a username
and password. When I enter them, it will not accept them. I've deleted my
mail account and set it up again. No change. Last year when this happened,
I started using Yahoo for mail. After a period of time, Windows Mail
mysteriously started working again, not asking for a username and password.
I believe it is a problem with Mail.

Think about it. If WM had a bug in that basic email function, thousands
if not millions of users would be experiencing it, and this forum would be
inundated with similar complaints.
In working with this type of WM problem over the past 28 months, we have
found that the cause is almost always a non-compatible antivirus product.
WM is susceptible to password corruption when interfered with by
overly aggressive security programs.
