Hi, am having probs checking email, I managed to set up my account with some
help, thanks but now am getting this message!
Header download for the 'Inbox' folder did not complete. Your IMAP server
has closed the connection. This may occur if you have left the connection
idle for too long. Account: 'imap.aol.com', Server: 'imap.aol.com', Protocol:
IMAP, Server Response: 'Autologout; idle for too long', Port: 143,
Secure(SSL): No, Error Number: 0x800CCCDD

Try this:
Tools>Options?General tab>Check for new messages. Set it for something like
every 10-15 minutes.

Hi, I have set it for every 10mins but am now getting this message!

Header download for the 'Inbox' folder did not complete. The operation was
canceled by the user. Account: 'imap.aol.com', Server: 'imap.aol.com',
Protocol: IMAP, Server Response: 'LOGIN Failed. Your mailbox is temporarily
unavailable. Please try again later.', Port: 143, Secure(SSL): No, Error

Are you using either McAfee or Norton AV?

Email scanning should be turned off in any anti-virus. Also exclude EML
files from the scan. It provides no
protection not provided by the regular resident protection.
Besides that, McAfee and Norton are not compatible with Windows Mail and
Outlook Express and should be uninstalled. The latest version of Trend's
anti-virus seems to be causing problems too.
