I hade some black (pigment) nozzles clogged.

Suddenly pigmented black stoped completly. No black ink comes out at all.
Cleaning don't help.

Can the problem stem from anything else then clogged nozzles? All other
operation seems okay.

Can this be cleaned in any smart way?
It's a Canon i865 running on w98se.

Thanks!

Hi
I recently encountered my Canoni860 printing black as gray.
I went through a few cleaning cycles with no improvement.
I used the air spray technique described at
http://www.neilslade.com/papers/inkjetstuff.html
That has worked in the past. Not this time.
I finally went back to an old technique I used when I had
an Epson (long since in the trash).
Before I sprayed air on the tabs on the printhead, I sprayed
them with Windex. Then I gave them a good spray with air.
I sprayed some windex on the heads and onto a paper towel
that I used to wipe off the heads.
I installed the heads and cartridges and ran a cleaning cycle.
It prints as good now as when it was new.

So this is applied when the spongue more or less drowned or overflooded with
ink???

Windex? What is it? Perhaps I must ind some equivalent product.

I put the printhead in water (cold) for 24h and canned air after. My problem
pigmented black was still 100% dead.

Printhead was demonted another time. Now put in 50/50 water /alcohol får 3
hole days. Blown free with canned air again. Works now 95% so I let it run
to see what happens.
