Logging time for users

B

Bob Greene

Running XP Home. I have created 2 users on my machine, one for me (fun
stuff) and one for teaching an internet course.

Is there any way to get a log or time stamp when I switch users? Or
(dreaming a little here), any way to have the machine automatically switch
users after a period of inactivity.

Thanks for your help.

guess you stumped the experts. i don't know either, when it comes to that
because users remain logged in, when using Fast User Switching.

but if you log the user off every time, then you could make use of a macro
recorder program, and run it automatically at startup to record a series of
keystrokes, such as opening a document file or spreadsheet, adding a new
line, inserting the current date/time, save and close.

if you are good at (or know somebody good at) writing .bat command files,
you could maybe write a .bat file to run a series of commands at startup to
insert a date/time stamp into a new line of a file. i'm not good at writing
..bat files, so i'm not sure how this would be done.
